Lowndes County School District Career Technology Center Ribbon-Cutting and Open House

Tuesday June 19th, 2018 was the official Grand Opening of Lowndes County School District’s Career Technology Center in Columbus.  After the ribbon cutting,  community and industry leaders enjoyed an open house tour of the new 55,000 square foot “Career Tech.”  Programs include:  a Teaching Academy, Culinary Arts, Allied Health, Polymer Science, Robotics, Automotive Maintenance, Building Trades, Welding and Industrial Maintenance. A 3,200 square foot auditorium seating 230, has been designed to also serve Career Tech and the surrounding community as a FEMA Shelter.

We are grateful to Lowndes County School District administrators, board members, students, staff, families, community members and industry leaders for passing the $44 Million Bond Issue that brought the $11 Million Career Technology Center to reality.
