Jackson Preparatory School, Ruth W. & Arthur C. Guyton Science Center

Flowood, MS

Project Description

The 16,000 square foot, $2.4 million Guyton Science Center added six state-of-the-art science classrooms containing laboratories, along with a 200-seat lyceum that can be used for seminars, lectures and special ceremonies.  The building was constructed due to space constraints. The science center is divided into half classrooms and half laboratories making the space more efficient. “The way the room is set up, it flows better,” said Katie Sorey, 16, a junior who will be taking physics in the new science center. “I’m sad I didn’t get to take chemistry here. This is the dream chemistry room.”
