Project Description
Lewisburg Middle/High School is part of a program management project, as well as architectural services that JBHM provided to the Desoto County School District. JBHM evaluated sites and made selections for locations. Essentially our team developed prototypes for elementary, middle and high schools, so that they would have flexibility to accommodate a variety of students and have the ability to expand when needed.
The middle schools were planned to function so that there would be adequate separation between age groups with different administrative spaces because the buildings would eventually become high schools. The middle school prototypes were basically the same with the exception of specific needs each school had which included additional counselors, specific vocational trades and child development programs. Entrances to the building were also specific to each campus. Lewisburg has a capacity of 800 middle school
students.
