Perry Hall Cafeteria, Mississippi State University

Starkville, MS

Project Description

The historic Perry Cafeteria occupies a position in the heart of the MSU campus, as well as in the cultural heart of MSU students, faculty and alumni. It has seen many changes over the years since it opened in 1922, hailed as “… the largest, and one of the finest and most complete cafeterias in the United States.”

JBHM has been privileged to work with Mississippi State University and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History to preserve the historic grandeur of the cafeteria building, while bringing its interior dining service settings once again to the forefront in university food service.  Included in this project are the cleaning and renovation of the interior public spaces, complete replanning of the kitchen and servery, and new wood dining room furnishings.
